Hamsters are adorable and pretty cheap, but when it comes to their supplies, your hard earned money will instantly disappear. However there are some ways to lower down the price, look at the very bottom of the page.  I'll tell you what you need for a cute little hamster. Like this one over here----------->

1. A GOOD CAGE IS REQUIRED. It needs to have atleast 360 Sq inches. A bin cage would be a great choice (if it is 360 Sq inches), and you need atleast a 20 gallon tank for hamsters. Remember, BIGGER IS BETTER. Critter cages (Or Happy Trail Cages) looks cool to humans, but terrible to hamsters. It is way to small, but if you attach 4 critter trail cages together, it may work.

1. A water bottle and a food bowl - A water bottle shouldn't leak, or make it a struggling time for your hamster(s) to drink water. You can buy a water bottle holder too, if you want (Optional). Just make sure the water bottle is secured. A food bowl is needed. I recommend a ceramic bowl , so your hamster(s) can not knock it over. A Plastic bowl is fine, but I still recommend a ceramic bowl.

2. Hamster food and treats - Hamster food is required, but treats are not. I recommend the hazel hamster, it has a great variety of food, and very healthy. The corns in the hazel hamster is actually very fatty, so pick the corns out and only give 2 a day to your hamster. If your hamster is a little over weight, you can't feed him corn. The treats are optional (I mentioned it before), you should feed him/her a treat once a weeks or once a month. You can give them veggies and fruits (Check our list of hamster-safe fruits and veggies.

3. Hamster nesting and bedding- DO NOT BUY FLUFF FOR NESTING, it can cause internal blockage if swallowed, just USE strips of toilet paper (It's perfectly safe). I recommend paper based bedding, but aspen bedding works as well. I recommend the Kaytee Clean + Cozy bedding and Carefresh. Carefresh brands tend to be expensive, so if you are on budget by kaytee or aspen. NO PINE OR CEDAR OR SOFTWOOD SHAVING OR SCENTED BEDDING PLEASE , IT CAN KILL THEM! In the winter, hamsters do need softer and thicker layer of bedding for them to borrow in and keep warm, so buy Kaytee for the cold winter and buy Aspen (Aspen can keep your hamster(s) cool in the summer) in the hot summer.

4. Chews and toys - Hamsters need chew toys to keep their teeth trimmed (hamsters teeth never stops growing that is why they need to trim their teeth) and entertained. Just throw a couple different kinds of chew toys , I usually put in 5-6 chewtoys in my hamsters' cages. You can put tubes in their to make a fun "tunnel" for him/her.

5. Wheel - a wheel is required. Make sure it is the approperiate size. The approperiate sizes for different types of hamsters are located here: Syrian- ATLEAST 8 inches, all other hamsters are usually comfortable in 5.5 to 6 inch wheels. I recommend the wodent wheel, silent spinner, and the comfy wheel. Wodent wheels are only avalible online.

---- IF YOU TAKE MY TIPS DOWN BELOW YOU WILL SAVE MONEY-
